i broke my fibula, right above my ankle playing soccer. i want to get back as soon as possible and so i want to try to keep in shape while I'm just sitting here depressed. I have a walking boot on now although i can not walk on it for another 2 to 3 weeks. it is my senior year of high school and i have been on the varsity soccer team for 4 years. I am captain this year and actually get a good amount of playing time and have improved a great deal, it was the start of my best year in soccer. The doctor said i will be out about 8 weeks. I broke it Dec.7 and my season starts January and goes till beginning of February. I will do anything and everything to heal as quick as possible and keep in shape to play in at least maybe the last week of my final season. Any ideas or suggestions would be great thank you!

Well, you definitely don't want to put weight on it and risk reinjury, but there are a lot of things you can do. Using crutches is great, do what you can do. After a week or so you can also use almost any upper body weight machines where you're sitting down. Just don't do anything that puts pressure on your leg. Do what you can do.

See if any local gyms have an Upper Body Ergometer. It's a cardio machine for your arms, kind of like moving bicycle pedals with your arms. It's really challenging to get your heart rate up using only your arms, so it'll keep you active. Start with about 5 minutes and work your way up from there.

I'm in the same situation as you are. First of all you can gain alot of upper body strength using your crutches. I have been on crutches since June, and have lost 25 lbs and my shoulders arms and back are stronger than they have been in awhile.

As for your leg. I would suggest isometric exercises. Do NOT do anything that will place pressure of any kind on that leg. There is a reason you are non weight bearing. The last thing you want is to disturb the healing process and have to have surgery or another surgery.

I had a tibial osteotomy Nov 15th for recurrent knee dislocation and slipped on my back deck Nov 25th shattering my tibia. I am currently wheel chair bound. Its simply a fact you will lose strength and muscle mass in that leg.. the isometrics will help, also physical therapy when your physician indicates. Don't worry you will regain it all back. I wouldn't advise swimming. To high of a risk of slipping Now is the time for patience my friend. You can also increase your calcium and vitamin D intake. Either by supplements or by dark leafy veggies and dairy products. Hang in there... patience and you will be fine, you just cannot rush this.

i did no longer sense like examining your e book. So, all i'm going to assert is.... if your gut feeling says that the horses at the instant are not getting the right problem-loose care: ft trimmed or shod on a commonplace foundation deworming sparkling water good hay nutrition a sparkling atmosphere in the event that they are in the stall 24/7 and in grime or at the instant are not being fed, and so on precise... Then it's time to call the government. would not count who the owner is. they'd desire to be pronounced. What happens once you checklist it extremely is: Animal administration shows as much as chat with you first, get your ingredient of the story, then they flow inspect the animals, and that they talk with the owner approximately proper care and get solutions. Then they elect in the event that they'd desire to take the animals or in simple terms would desire to coach the owner. they save monitoring the horses. If there are horses that are patently being abused or disregarded (pores and skin and bones) then they'll possibly be taken then and there. i've got called Peta (yeah, I did, by way of their internet site) and that they have got been given the community animal administration to get off their butts and save a canines that replaced into being starved by utilising a neighbor. The canines replaced into saved. So, yeah, even Peta can get entangled. the ingredient is, do something in case you realize that the horses desire help. they are able to't help themselves. a common rescue: is sparkling, the animals are healthful and taken care of needless to say and clearly. if it extremely is lacking....then no, you at the instant are not speaking some popular rescue. rescues would desire to provide the horses a extra powerful residing house. no longer worse. human beings will hoard animals and phone themselves a rescue. no longer a similar ingredient. they only convey collectively horses and can't shield them. those human beings would desire to be pronounced.

No don't lift weights. There's really not much you can do. You can eat healthy and do plenty of crunches. To keep your legs in shape you might wanna do allot of bicycle crunches. Its good for endurance. That's pretty much it. Hope you feel better. Good luck kid.

Swimming is great because you don't put pressure on it.
