Exsercise! Work the joint daily! You need to bend it over and over again for a few days. Jog a little, and walk. If you want, run. This will help regain the strength. Also, hop on that foot by itself. Trust me, my friend did this, and he had perfect strength in three days!

Yes, I know how you feel. This has happened to me too. What you need to do is go to physical therapy to rebuild your muscles in the leg. Because you haven't used it for so long. Just take it slow for awhile and soon you will be back to normal. But it just takes time.
Good Luck!

you need physical therapy, start by walking and increase as you can to stair climbing or ramp climbing, or take some beginning yoga. The soft tissues in there have shrunk and are stiff and tight. Also heat applications before exercise will help.

They call it physical therapy.
Inactivity causes a change in the muscle physiology...slow reconditioning should provide an improvement in flexibility and range of motion. Muscle atrophy (wasting away) is often common with casts, too. If you look closely, there is a difference in the size of the affected leg versus the unaffected one. It is normal and should equalize over time along with the usage of the limb under normal weight-bearing conditions.
Take care...and see a therapist!
