FOr background info I will tell you what happened.
IT was the end of the soccer game and I was sprinting to catch up with my opponent and tried to speed up then abuptly stopped and as I planted my left foot I felt my knee pop and heard it too at the same time I felt my leg twist with sharp pain that began to subside as soon as it started but I fell to the ground and screamed out in pain. I then was observed by the trainers one at first one thought maybe I tore my acl but than my school's trainer did some physical tests with the leg and said that since I didnt feel any pain on any of the tests it was most likely not that. Other suggestions were that the knee was sprained. I think that the bootoom half of the leg may have poped out of its socket because everytime I accidently stepped on the hurt leg I felt it twist inward as if were slipping. I then felt the back of my normal knee and compared it to the injured one and you know how when you feel the back of your knee there is a sort of round part( muscle or tendon) well on the hurt leg I couldnt feel it the way I had on the other leg leading me to the conclusion that

I maybe right however I would like others opinions and also I would like to know the nam of the muscle or tendon on the direct bak of the knee that is round thank you in advance.

Get a MRI to diagnose soft tissue injuries and see an orthopedist.

To answer your question, for the most part, the front of your leg in your thigh to knee is your quadriceps muscles and the back of your knee would be part of the hamstrings.

It's possible that you damaged other things like your meniscus or ligaments so it's important to see a MD and get a correct diagnosis.

Good Luck :)

If you were planted and your knee twisted, you're more than likely dealing with ligaments and cartilage rather than muscles.

I've torn both of my ACL's and you just described a classic case. You were planted, you turned, and you felt the pop. An ACL isn't a horribly painful injury all the time. Especially if that's all that is affected. You also describe the classic "slipping feeling"- that's what your ACL does, keeps your knee from slipping. The lower bone of your leg/knee (tibia) won't come out of place if your ACL is functioning properly.

Also, with an ACL tear, you get swelling in the back of the knee, due to blood pooling there.

Also, trainers are great, but they're not doctors. My ortho had trouble with my first ACL tear, I didn't present classic symptoms on exam. I had to end up having a KT test and an MRI to be diagnosed. Don't rely on your trainer- go to an ortho. You need to have a Lachman test and an Anterior Drawer test, also probably an MRI.

As for the muscles, your quads are on the sides of the knee, while you're hamstrings are mostly in the back, but they also "loop" around some.

Good luck, hope your knee gets better, and get to the Dr!

Manchester United's continuously first with me. I aid no different workforce within the EPL. The handiest different membership I do aid is Bayern, and if they might ought to play every different, Manchester United might be the only I'd cheer for. And, sure, you do have a well argument on your opinion. Inzaghi is a hideous monster. He's been identified to scare humans clear of Italian soccer. Well, that is handy. They payed the fit officers. They educated their mutants above all on the best way to cheat. And worst of all, the allowed the Creature to play, which sadly, his small, nearly non-existant mind is not able to comprend the train of reasonable play. Disagree. Zizou is the GREATEST footballer of all time. No one else will EVER come virtually him.
